Bunker Market reported that Alkagesta's 2025 Group Town Hall in Istanbul, Turkiye, served as a key internal event, offering a consolidated view of the company's operational progress. The forum gathered 167 employees from various global offices and departments, including trading, logistics, risk management, operations, finance, and sustainability functions.
Senior leadership guided participants through a review of 2025, a year marked by volatile energy markets, evolving trade flows, and increasing regulatory complexity. Alkagesta highlighted that disciplined execution, robust governance, and cross-functional collaboration supported its continued growth and resilience during this period.
A central part of the Town Hall was a detailed overview of strategic achievements, demonstrating Alkagesta's shift from a traditional petroleum trading platform to a more diversified, multi-commodity enterprise. The company launched a dedicated Biofuels Desk in 2025, aligning with the maritime sector's decarbonisation efforts.
Alkagesta also expanded its light ends portfolio by establishing a Naphtha Book and successfully executing its first LR shipment from the Mediterranean to the Far East. In a notable diversification, the company entered the metals market by adding steel trading to its portfolio, broadening its scope beyond energy products and fertilisers.
Geographically, Alkagesta achieved a major milestone by exporting its first 130,000-metric-ton fuel oil cargo from Nigeria, establishing West Africa as a strategic sourcing region. The company also strengthened its position as a fertiliser exporter in Egypt and expanded its footprint in Singapore, Asia's primary energy and marine trading hub.
The company reported increased middle-distillate volumes in 2025, driven by successful execution of AG arbitrage flows and an expanded sales network. Alkagesta also broadened its petroleum operations across Eastern Europe, diversifying its customer base and reinforcing its role in regional trade routes.
Beyond commercial successes, the Town Hall emphasised ethical standards, transparency, and accountability as Alkagesta scales. Leadership reaffirmed that operational excellence must be supported by strong governance, compliance, and risk discipline across all locations.
