Alkagesta has been featured in Biofuels International following the publication of record first-half results for 2026, with the trading house reporting the strongest half-year performance in its history.
According to the coverage, Alkagesta posted revenue of $3.5 billion (€3 billion) for the first six months of the year, achieved despite continued volatility across global commodities markets. Based on current trading activity, full-year 2026 volumes are expected to exceed 10 million metric tonnes, up from 8.7 million metric tonnes in 2025.
Chief executive Orkhan Rustamov was quoted on the results: "These results reflect the progress we have made through a measured and disciplined approach to growth. Despite significant volatility across global commodities markets, our focus has remained on serving our clients reliably and building our business on strong, long-term relationships."
The report also pointed to a targeted entry into the crude market, an expansion of jet fuel trading volumes, and increased storage and logistical capacity. That includes the multi-year agreement signed earlier this year for biofuel storage at Pantank in Antwerp, which brought total storage capacity across Europe and Asia to 700,000 cubic metres.
For a trading house of Alkagesta's size, the combination of crude market entry, growing jet fuel volumes and expanded tank capacity points to a broader physical footprint across Europe and Asia heading into the second half of the year.
