Alkagesta has been awarded ISCC CORSIA certification, which allows the company to trade and supply CORSIA-eligible Sustainable Aviation Fuel, according to CCarbon Info. This certification ensures compliance with international aviation sustainability requirements.

The certification provides a recognised framework for the global aviation sector as it progresses into a more advanced phase of emissions monitoring and compliance. It confirms that SAF meets specific lifecycle greenhouse gas reduction criteria under International Civil Aviation Organization standards.

CCarbon Info reported that Alkagesta is now positioned to support airline counterparties with verified SAF supply that aligns with regulatory obligations, having achieved certification under an ICAO-approved sustainability scheme.

Anthony Guida, Alkagesta's Biofuels Trader and Business Developer, stated that the ISCC CORSIA certification reflects the company's ongoing development in biofuels activities. He added that it demonstrates their commitment to structured and compliant market participation.

Mr Guida also noted that the certification establishes a clear chain of custody and traceability throughout the supply process. This supports counterparties in meeting both international and regional SAF requirements.

The certification contributes to a more harmonised compliance environment, fostering transparency and consistency across international SAF markets. This is particularly relevant given initiatives like ReFuelEU Aviation, which introduces mandatory SAF blending thresholds, and the gradual phase-out of free allowances under the EU Emissions Trading System.

CCarbon Info highlighted that these regulatory changes underscore the economic importance of adopting sustainable fuels and support the broader transition towards lower-carbon aviation solutions.
