Ardmore Shipping, a New York-listed company, has finalized its newbuilding program by exercising the last two options at China's Wuhu Shipyard. This decision increases its product and chemical tanker newbuilding series to a total of six vessels.
The expanded order represents an investment of approximately $269 million for the entire series. The latest additions are two 40,500 dwt handysize tankers, contracted under terms similar to the four vessels previously ordered.
This move signifies Ardmore Shipping's commitment to expanding its fleet capacity. The new tankers are designed to transport both refined petroleum products and various chemicals, offering versatility in their operations.
The acquisition of these new vessels is expected to enhance Ardmore Shipping's capabilities in the global shipping market. The company's strategic investment in these newbuilds aligns with its long-term fleet management objectives.
