The JAXPORT Board of Directors recently approved the construction of a new western entrance and security plaza at the Blount Island Marine Terminal. This development is part of ongoing infrastructure enhancements at the port facility.

In a gesture of remembrance, the board also decided to name the new roadway leading to this entrance after the port's late Chief Operating Officer. The road will be known as James Bennett Way, honoring his contributions.

This decision reflects the board's recognition of the former COO's service and impact on JAXPORT's operations and development. The naming serves as a permanent tribute within the port's infrastructure.

The Blount Island Marine Terminal is a key asset for JAXPORT, handling various cargo types and facilitating trade. The new entrance and security plaza aim to improve operational efficiency and access at the terminal.
