Petrobras has resumed its sales of Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) bunkers at the Port of Itaqui in Brazil, as reported by Hellenic Shipping News. This decision follows the postponement of previously scheduled maintenance work on the VLSFO pipelines at the port.
The company communicated this development through a customer update, indicating a return to normal VLSFO supply operations. However, Petrobras did not provide any new dates or a revised schedule for when the postponed VLSFO pipeline maintenance would eventually take place.
In contrast to the VLSFO situation, sales of Low Sulphur Marine Gas Oil (LSMGO) will continue to be suspended at the Brazilian port. This suspension is due to ongoing pipeline maintenance activities specifically affecting LSMGO infrastructure.
Hellenic Shipping News reported that the suspension of LSMGO sales is expected to remain in effect until November 9. This indicates that while VLSFO supply has normalized, the availability of LSMGO will be impacted for a defined period due to the maintenance work.
