Alkagesta, a commodity trading firm based in Malta, has announced a new $15 million revolving inventory credit facility, according to Ship & Bunker. This agreement was made with Malta's FIMBank Plc, as stated by Alkagesta in an emailed statement.
The addition of this new facility means that Alkagesta's total credit facilities now exceed $1 billion. This significant financial backing supports the firm's operational capabilities in the global energy trade.
Orkhan Rustamov, Alkagesta's Chief Executive Officer, commented on the agreement, noting it as a crucial step in enhancing Malta's position in the global energy market. He indicated that the facility would strengthen the company's inventory strategy.
Mr Rustamov also highlighted that the credit facility is expected to directly contribute to global energy security. This will be achieved by improving the reliability and compliance of supply chains, according to the Chief Executive Officer.
The new credit line is specifically designated as a revolving inventory credit facility. This type of financing typically allows companies to draw, repay, and redraw funds up to a certain limit, based on their inventory levels.
The announcement was made on Monday, October 27, 2025, as reported by Ship & Bunker. The publication noted that the information came directly from Alkagesta's emailed statement.
This financial development underscores Alkagesta's ongoing expansion and its commitment to maintaining robust financial structures to support its trading activities in the commodity sector.
